Biomaster™ Antimicrobial Technology is incorporated into selected CC Matting products to help inhibit microbial growth on treated polymeric surfaces. Added during the manufacturing process, this antimicrobial technology provides ongoing protection for the mat material as part of the product's contamination control features.
Unlike temporary surface treatments, Biomaster™ is incorporated into the polymer formulation. The technology uses silver ions to interfere with essential microbial processes and inhibit the growth of certain microorganisms on treated surfaces.
How Does Biomaster™ Work?
Biomaster™ antimicrobial technology uses silver ions that can interfere with microorganisms through several mechanisms.
1. Cell Surface Disruption
Silver ions can interact with microbial cell structures, disrupting normal cellular functions and affecting the integrity of the microorganism.
2. Interference with Cellular Processes
The technology can interfere with important biological processes that microorganisms require for normal function and survival.
3. Inhibition of Microbial Reproduction
Silver ions may interfere with genetic and cellular processes, helping inhibit the growth and reproduction of susceptible microorganisms.

Advantages of Biomaster™
- Integrated Protection: Incorporated into the polymeric material during manufacture rather than applied as a temporary surface coating.
- Antimicrobial Properties: Helps inhibit microbial growth on treated mat surfaces.
- Long-Term Functionality: Designed to provide antimicrobial product protection throughout the normal service life of the treated material.
- Complements Contamination Control: Works alongside the particle-capturing properties of CC Matting's polymeric surface.
- Simple Maintenance: Does not require separate activation, while routine cleaning remains essential.
Biomaster™ in CC Matting Products
CC Matting combines polymeric particulate-capturing technology with antimicrobial additives in selected matting products. This allows facilities to benefit from both physical particle retention and antimicrobial protection of the treated mat surface.
The technology is particularly relevant to facilities where hygiene and contamination management are important, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratories, healthcare environments and controlled production areas.
Important: Biomaster™ provides antimicrobial protection for treated product surfaces. It does not sterilise an environment, replace regular cleaning or independently establish protection against infection.
