Easy Plate – Aerobic Bacteria (AC)


Easy Plate AC is a custom media formulation that has obtained AOAC PTM and MicroVal certification. It is specifically designed for cultivating aerobic bacteria. This microbial test kit includes a chemical redox indicator that produces coloured red colonies, making it convenient to identify and quantify aerobic bacteria within a timeframe of 48±2 hours. Easy Plate AC has received AOAC PTM and MicroVal certification and is available in packages containing 100 tests, divided into four separate bags, with each bag containing 25 tests. When stored unopened at temperatures between 2-8℃, Easy Plate AC maintains its effectiveness for a shelf life of 18 months.


1.Easy to distinguish bright-coloured colonies

  • Identifying is simpler in comparison to agar count media due to the colour change, making it unnecessary to confirm the presence or absence of air bubbles or the size of colonies.
  • The use of Easy Plate only requires a single sheet, whereas the surface plating method typically needs three or more plates.

2. Reducing the spreading of colonies of Bacillus spp.

Colonies of Bacillus spp. can easily spread on conventional agar media but spreading is controlled on Easy Plate.

3. High correlation with the plate count agar

Plate Count Interpretation

  1.  Count any colonies that spread as a single colony, counting by the central dark area of the colony.
    *Do not count thin, microscopic colonies scattered across an area where a colony is spread out.
  2. Where multiple colonies are present, count the central dark area of the colony as a single colony. In example B, there are 4 dark areas of the colony. These would be counted in 4 colonies.
